The Town of Culver is located on the edge of Lake Maxinkuckee, the second largest natural lake in Indiana. With the water quality of the lake under constant supervision, it is a perfect place to get away. The shore is lined with beautiful homes and the Culver Academies, a premier college-prep boarding school. The Town of Culver is the hub for eating, shopping and living.

Amazing cuisine and classy shops enhance the appeal of Culver. Several exquisite restaurants will tempt your tastebuds with a variety of foods. Some of the more surprising treats include excellent seafood, fine italian dining, and even sushi. The shopping is within walking distance of the town park and beach and includes gifts, collector bears, antique furniture, clothing, fine art, and sweets. Lodging can be reserved within rental homes, condominiums, or one of the areas several bed and breakfasts.

The beauty of the lake and slow pace of the country attract many people, particularly in the summer months. The summer tourist season is clearly visible through the large increase in population and numerous community activities. The official census count records Culver with 1,539 people. However, the population more than doubles in the summer and then falls during the winter months when many long-time residents migrate south for the winter.
