Culver Academies

The Culver Academies are independent college preparatory
boarding schools comprised of Culver Military Academy and Culver Girls Academy. Henry Harrison Culver founded Culver Military Academy in 1894 "for the purpose of thoroughly preparing young men for the best colleges, scientific schools and businesses of America."

In 1896, a fire at Missouri Military Academy brought about its consolidation with Culver, and with it came Missouri's headmaster, Col. Alexander Fleet, under whose guidance the Academy made rapid progress. By 1939, under the leadership of Gen. Leigh Gignilliat, Culver had achieved national and international prominence. Steady growth has continued throughout Culver's history.

Culver Girls Academy was founded in 1971, for the purpose of encouraging young women to attain the highest degree of self-development.

The Culver Academies are more than an outstanding college preparatory school for boys and girls in an ideal setting, with unparalleled facilities, and one of the most extensive academic and activity offerings available at the high-school level - not to mention one of the finest athletic programs in the country.

Culver Summer Schools and Camps

Founded in 1902, the Culver Summer Schools & Camps program is unique. It is a fun-filled, naturally beautiful 1800 acre setting where over 1300 young people from around the world, ages 9-17, develop positive self-esteem through accomplishment and self discipline. It is a high challenge-high support environment for learning leadership skills that improve personal confidence.

Whether you are interested in earning US Sailing certification through Culver's Naval School, riding in Culver's esteemed Troop or Equestrienne program, learning Aeronautical techniques in the School of Aviation, taking a leadership role in the Girl's School or experiencing the adventure of countless activities and new challenges in the Woodcraft Camp - the summer programs at Culver are like none other and you're invited to learn about each program and what it has to offer your child.

Character development is the focus. The goal of the Summer Schools & Camps is to teach self-discipline, personal responsibility, fairness, appreciation for diversity, respect for self and others - the characteristics upon which honor is built.

The Culver staff is committed to developing the whole person - mind, body and spirit - through personal reflection, individual counseling, small group experiences, unit and team activities, and participation in religious services. The interactive Culver experience, set in a leadership - military framework, provides an opportunity for young people of varied skill and experience levels to develop lifetime interests and lifelong friends.
